Harmony Day
This year’s Harmony Day was a celebration which will be remembered by all Kambrya members. Students were passionate about representing their culture. Students were encouraged to wear their ethnic clothes or orange to represent the harmony of cultures. Kambrya celebrated the cultural diversity of Australia and represented their culture through the art of performing. There were tons of dance and vocal performances which went throughout the whole of lunch. The crowd was amazing - cheering, and clapping sounds filled the courtyard, making it a party for all!
Being one of the performers, performing was a delightful experience. The journey from choreographing dances in groups to performing with traditional clothes on the day felt like a great achievement. Although getting in groups and coordinating with people with the busy schedules can be stressful, making time for performing and having the opportunity to represent our background, and those practise sessions with friends, will be cherished forever.
People at Kambrya College got involved with great enthusiasm and prepared for this day for months. The crowd cheered, people sung along and made it a precious memory to all. Undoubtedly, Harmony Day is one of the most awaited days for many people at Kambrya, and students and staff work hard to organise this beautiful experience.
The multiple, Bollywood, Afghani, Samoan, Spanish and African performances which filled the courtyard with smiles will be remembered. Harmony Day is a day where we all celebrate our backgrounds and celebrate the diversity Australia allows us to share.
