Early Childhood News
We love reading at St Helena’s! Last week, we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime by reading the book The Speedy Sloth by Rebecca Young. St Helena’s Catholic Primary School joined over three million other children at schools, daycares, homes and libraries across Australia and New Zealand to hear about how it was finally time for the event of the year, the Great Race, to occur. We loved listening to the tale of Spike and her need to run!
National Simultaneous Storytime not only promotes the love of reading but also highlights the importance of literacy in early childhood development. By participating in this event, our school aims to foster a passion for books and inspire a lifelong appreciation for the power of storytelling.
Connie joined some classes to listen to the story- she even brought along her own sloth!
