Happy birthday to the church!

On Wednesday, Living Waters celebrated Pentecost. This is a special day in the church calendar in which we remember the coming of the Holy Spirit to the disciples. In Chapter 1 of Acts, Jesus said to the disciples, ‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ In the following chapters we read about the coming of the Holy Spirit and how the disciples, filled with the Spirit, began to share the good news of Jesus – first in Jerusalem, then in Judea and Samaria, and then towards the ends of the world! This is how the Christian church began. The church is not just a physical building; it is the community of believers gathered together, all around the world. To celebrate the birth of the church, each class spent some time reflecting on the importance of Pentecost. Then we all enjoyed a delicious cake!
