Acting Principal

During the last week of this term and the first 6 weeks of Term 3, I will be stepping into the role of Acting Principal during Nick's long service leave.  Please be assured that if you have any concerns, queries or just want to pop in for a chat the door is always open. During my time out of the classroom, Mrs Erin Mullan will step into my place to keep the classroom program running. At times, Mrs Thelma Asbury may also be replacing me in the classroom.  I know that our wonderful community will be supportive of these wonderful teachers who will step up to assist Lisa and me during this time.

After my time as Acting Principal, I too will be taking some long service leave, where my husband and I will be heading off Queensland and then to Papua New Guinea. (By then I think I will need a break!)

NCCD News

In August this year, all schools are required to collect data on students who meet the criteria to support students with disability.  In the classroom, this may look like adjusted programs for students, intervention programs, manipulatives to assist with concentration, support through Learning Support Officers, or even adjustments to the school environment such as increasing accessibility to classrooms.

Over the year, teachers collect data about student needs and the ways in which they can best help students.  Students who qualify for NCCD funding have adjustment plans and Independent Learning Plans set with specific goals for the student and teacher to work towards over a set period of time.  These goals are reported back to parents through parent-teacher interviews, PSG meetings and additional parent meetings throughout the term.

Please click on the button below to access information for parents about the Disability Standards for Education and the NCCD Fact sheet for the collection of data.
