Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Guardians, and friends of Nazareth

Our College Community is extremely lucky to have so many dedicated students involved in various extracurricular activities. Our School of Excellence hosts a multitude of students throughout the week, assisting our students in developing their skills in soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis and aerobics. I thank parents for committing themselves to the early drop-offs each morning.  The student's development is obvious, and it is a factor in the College’s strong SIS representation of these sports.

Our Performing Arts students are only weeks away from the Opening Night of ‘Seussical’ (June 1-3). They have worked extremely hard to ensure that they put on an extraordinary performance.  Obviously, our College staff, musicians and all our assistant helpers have given up much of their time to ensure our students are primed to be at their best. Please book your seats, as tickets are limited. This can be done via the following link https://events.humanitix.com/nazareth-college-presents-seussical-the-musical

I introduce Ms Sandra D’Souza and Ms Maria Kotsanis as our new Administration officers. They have joined the College Administration Team and will serve our Community, ensuring that families and students receive the absolute best service and assistance.

We also welcome Mr Luke Georgakopoulos as our new Sports Assistant. Luke returns to Nazareth after being a past student and will work on a part-time basis replacing Tenille Kirk. Tenille has moved to Netball Victoria.

We welcome Ms Priya Gnanaswamy, who will join the Learning Diversity Team as a Learning Support Officer.

Today we farewell Ms Leonie Lisiecki, who has been with us since the commencement of this year as HR Manager. Leonie will be taking a break and caring for her elderly mother.

After a long association with the College, Mrs Kate Shea will take a period of Long Service Leave and then retire from the College. Kate has been a well respected staff member for the past thirty (30) years and, during that time, has assisted numerous students in Health and Physical Education, Mathematics and cared for students as a Pastoral teacher. We thank Kate for her many years of dedication.

Our building projects are coming along. The work on the VET/Hospitality Centre, together with the lift in the Auditorium, are progressing well. We hope to be utilising these facilities by the commencement of Term 3.

Keep safe, and God bless

Mr Sam Cosentino
