Year 10 Occupational Health and Safety Incursion - Work Experience Preparation

Next Wednesday 23 May, all Year 10 students will be participating in an OH&S incursion in preparation for undertaking their Work Experience placement next month. Students will have a presentation introducing them to important facts about health and safety laws and common hazards. They will then need to undertake some educaton on the OH&S issues in the industry they are entering into (Industry Specific information ). Students will need to complete modules and tests for both General and their Industry Specific areas. They will then receive a certificate of completion that they can show their employer. The safety of our students is of the utmost priority and we need to be certain that they are prepared and safe before heading out into their workplace. 

This will run for Periods 1, 2 and 3. Period 4 will be their normal timetabled class. 

Try a Trade Expo

Last Tuesday the Year 12 VCAL and Year 11 VCE Vocational Major students visited the “Try-A Trade” expo. Here they could experience a few tasks in different trades, talk to industry experts, and discover post Nazareth options available to them for future study, employment and apprenticeships. 

And then there was the free Bakers Delight buns our students loved!

Another Expo this Week

Our Year 12 VCE students are attending this expo this week. It is open to the public on Saturday and has great seminars, stall holders and information sessions on post school options and VCE exam preparation etc…. Definitely worth all year levels checking thiss out.
