A Snapshot of our work in Term 2
This term the Preps have been learning about the comprehension strategies of Predicting, Visualising, Retell and Sequencing. Look at all their amazing work!
Student Voice:
Elijah: I like reading because I love reading books.
Sophie: I like reading nice things and I like reading new books that I haven't read before.
In Mathematics, the students are learning about Measurement. They have been using informal units to measure length. They have loved the hands on activities.
Student Voice:
Mya: I like Maths because I liked measuring my shoe. It was fun using the blocks.
Seraphina: I like how we figured out how to measure stuff.
In writing, the Preps have been learning to write sentences. Look at their wonderful letter formation and spacing between words!
Student Voice:
Onaysa: I like writing because it helps my muscles in my fingers.
Lucas: I like writing about trips and birthdays.
This term's theme topic is 'The Changing World' and students have been exploring how living things change. This week, students learnt about how plants grow. With the help of gardener Barry, each student had the opportunity to plant a broad bean or pea seed which will later be planted in the school garden.
