Level 5 and 6 Bushwahzee

On Monday the 29th of May, the level five and six students had the opportunity to celebrate an important part of Australian culture by participating in the Bushwahzee program. They spent the day learning and rehearsing an array of bush dances, songs and performances. In the evening, it was an absolute delight to have the parents come and watch the students perform.

It was a wonderful night full of laughter and dancing. The highlight was having the teachers and parents join in with some of the dances including the Hokey Pokey and The Australian classic, The Nutbush.

Desmond 5E- At the start of Bushwahzee they played some music for us, introduced some instruments and showed us some dances. We had so much fun and laughed a lot! On the night, we danced to the rhythm with our parents. It was a fabulous night and I look forward to doing it again next year!

Elijah 5E- Bushwahzee was an amazing experience. It was a great performance and I really enjoyed dancing with my friends. I liked PJ’s dances and how he taught us how to dance! I can’t wait for Bushwahzee next year!

Elena 5E- I really enjoyed the Bushwahzee program. They taught us some amazing dances and played some beautiful songs. Our parents definitely enjoyed our performance!
