Angel Wings Project

“In the very beginning I wanted the wings to remind humanity of their true, divine selves – the self we all have that is our higher nature.”

The workshop was inspired by the work of American artist Colette Miller, who is a Los Angeles based creative. She started the Angel Wings paintings as a way to remind people that people are the angels of the Earth. I thought it fitting to become a part of Colette’s dream to have angel wings all over the world, by inviting the School Community to design and decorate a feather with an inspirational message of love and peace. The feather then became a part of a large-scale installation, which is featured in the School Gallery, located in the Arts Wing.

In case you missed it, the Angel Wing Project ran during Arts in August. The whole School Community were invited to become a part of the project by designing a feather containing uplifting and inspirational messages. Well, I am delighted to report that the response was nothing less than spectacular! Each day I was inundated with beautifully decorated feathers, sending messages of love, hope and peace.

I would like to take this opportunity to send a heartfelt thank you to all of you (you know who you are), who took the time to make a creative contribution … let’s face it ..the project would not have been such a success without YOU!

Lastly, if you missed the exhibition you can still come and visit the show, taking place in the gallery area in the Senior School building. All are welcome to read the messages and take a photo between the wings…why not come in and say hello?!
