Principal's News

MARK ROBERTSON

Principal

Our graduating Class of 2019, their parents, and staff came together for the last time at our formal Graduation Dinner, at Merrimu Receptions on Thursday the 24th of October. This was a wonderful and fitting way to farewell and celebrate our 2019 Graduates. They have been working hard on their VCE examinations, and are on the final stretch with the last exams on Monday November 18.

I take this opportunity to thank the cohort for modelling the Oakleigh Grammar values for their younger peers who look up to them. I wish the Class of 2019 every success as they journey beyond the gates of Oakleigh Grammar, well equipped with the ethos and inspirations instilled in them during their time at our School. May they find reward in their endeavours, and we look forward to welcoming them back as important members of our Alumni Community in the future.

For our remaining students, I wish to encourage them to continue to work with diligence right through to the end of the term. We value the endeavours of our students in their academic pursuits, and it is important that they finish well.

This week we held our last formal Open Day for prospective students and families. We received strong attendance numbers and interest across many year levels. This positive attraction to our School is most encouraging, and I thank not only our Admissions team for the outstanding job that they do, but also our staff and broader Community who are the flag-bearers of our School.

Our Executive Leadership Team is currently operating in two time zones in preparation for the end of year class transitions, and our Awards Evenings, but also in planning for the 2020 School year ahead. We look forward to meeting you over the next few weeks, at the various end of year functions coming up in our School calendar.

Glendi

Whilst challenged with difficult weather conditions, the success of this year’s Glendi was by no means dampened, with funds raised over and above last year’s takings. This important community event continues to build invaluable relationships between the School and our Community. Thank you to all those who gave up their time, and to those who supported the event.
