SCIENCE

HEALESVILLE SANCTUARY

This week, just under 400 Year 7 students attended the Sanctuary.  The weather held out and students were able to observe many of the adaptations of the different species of animals held there. If your child attended on Tuesday, please ask them about Kevin – the naughty bird! I do hope you were able to observe the many pictures and videos of the day. There will be a special report in the next edition of the school's newsletter.

Also a huge congratulations to 7.37 for being the first of 17 form groups to return all their indemnity forms first; they shall be rewarded with a special pizza lunch.

YEAR 7 GARDEN PROJECT

Ms Colyer has been very busy in collecting used baths at local tips during the last three weekends, (we now have 12) for Year 7 students to use in their next venture. In March we are hoping for all Year 7 form groups to start preparing their soil to plant their vegetable seedlings. A grant from 'Landcare-Coles' will hopefully add much needed funds to the venture!

UNIT 3 & 4 BIOLOGY

Congratulations to VCE Biology students for completing their first School Assessment Task SAC. The students attended a day in the city to meet influential scientists and perform a practical investigation about enzymes using equipment, used in Universities; giving the students a head start into their tertiary education.

VCE UNIT 1 & 2 BIOLOGY

Excursion to Melbourne ZOO

A reminder that all the indemnity forms and payment of $20 are to be retuned as soon as possible to the General Office.

UNIT 3 & 4 CHEMISTRY

Payment for the SAC to VSEEC  is required as soon as possible.  The split excursion will happen with half of the class attending the excursion on Friday 6 March and the rest of the cohort attending on Tuesday 10 March.

ACCESS ON CODES

The codes have been released from the supplier and within the next week, we will be connecting your child to their assessment program. Thank you for your patience with this matter.
