Emergency Services Thank You Breakfast

On Monday 14th May, a group of Year 12 VCAL students hosted a thank you breakfast for the emergency service workers in Shepparton. It was held at Kialla Park Reserve at 7:30am. This was the 5th year the event has been held.

The “Emergency Services Thank You Breakfast” is a way for us to recognise and thank the emergency services for their hard work, sacrifice and commitment to what they do every day.

The event was organised by a small group of VCAL students who decided on each person’s role within the project and what we needed to do to make sure that the day ran smoothly.  This opportunity gave us a way to use our project management and leadership skills.

We had less people arrive than we thought but they soon notified us that there had been an serious incident and many emergency service members were unable to attend, but it was still a great day.

The project was sponsored by Everyday Supplies here in Shepparton and they were kind enough to donate cleaning and catering supplies to us. All of the students worked well as a team to solve problems and ensure that everything went well, WIN News also attended and interviewed us.
