11/12 VCAL Careers

GV Health Careers Day

Year 11 and 12 VCAL students took part in a GV health Careers Day on Thursday 14th June. This was not your usual health related day. Students were shown the support service jobs that make the hospital run. A talk and tour included:

Engineering/Gardening/Building

Logistics/ Ordering of supplies

Patient information

Business Admin and Accounts

The tour informed the students of the many jobs and how they are all connected, to support medical staff in delivering a service to patients and our wider community.

With the new building that is taking place GV Health will be in need of an extra 400 staff by the year 2020. Gotafe was also on hand to talk about the free courses starting in 2019  relating to these jobs. Many thanks to Kathy Scott, GV Health and Amy Robinson at Industry Links Lighthouse Project for organising the morning.
