GAT

The General Achievement Test (GAT) will take place on Wednesday 13 June.  The GAT is a test of general knowledge and skills in: Written Communication, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Humanities, The Arts and Social Sciences.

All students completing a Units 3 & 4 subject will need to complete the GAT even if they completed it in 2017.

On Wednesday 30 May, our Year 11 students attended GAT preparation sessions where they learnt key strategies and skills that they can apply when completing a range of tasks in the GAT.

Year 11 Exams

Year 11 Exams begin today and will run through to  Friday 15 June.

An exam timetable has been released and is accessible to students on Compass, on the Year 11 Google Classroom and below:

If students sitting exams have more than one clash, they will need to reschedule one of their exams for IPT, during the exam week. Clash requests can be arranged in the VCE Office.

Students can also speak to any of the Senior School Coordinators if they have any concerns.

IDAHOBIT DAY

On Monday 28 May, LHS we celebrated IDAHOBIT day.  A team of students worked together to hold an event for the day, raising money for Minus18.

Cupcakes were made with similar colour schemes to several of the different pride flags.  Sausages and ice creams were also sold and armbands and flyers were handed out.

Around $1000 was raised to support at risk LGBT teens and young adults.

Mindful Morning - VCE Points!

Mindful mornings are still happening every morning at Steamworks from 8:20-8:30 am.  Come down to Steamworks and enjoy a relaxing start to your morning.

VCE students will receive one point for every session they attend; so make sure that you put your name down when you drop in.

Absences on COMPASS

It is now a critical time for all VCE students and it is important that students are in class during this time as many SACs are approaching as well as Year 11 Exams and the GAT.

Any absences from school must be parent/guardian approved.  You can do this through a signed note or you can approve your child’s absences via the Parent Approval Button on Compass.

You can also use Compass to view your student’s past absences.
