YEAR 8

SIGNIFICANT PERSONS PROJECT

Significant Persons Project Presentation

The Significant Persons Project for Year 8 students is a substantial part of the semester’s curriculum.  This project spans the Arts and English faculties and is intended to allow students to identify and pay homage to a significant person in their lives.

Students have chosen a range of people to be their significant person; parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, coaches and teachers.

In English, students have written a reflective piece of writing about their chosen person that was inspired by that person’s character.

In their Arts subjects, students have created sculptures, paintings and dramatic interpretations that symbolise their significant person.

Celebration afternoon

Parents and significant people are invited to attend a celebration afternoon. The afternoon is an opportunity for the school community to celebrate the students’ achievements and allow the students to publically acknowledge and thank their significant person.

The afternoon will comprise of a presentation and tour of the gallery to view the art works while enjoying a light afternoon tea in the Performing Arts Centre.
