iTzAAAfest Schoolies Revolution Fundraiser

At the end of this year, a group of 15 students from all over Australia will be going on an alternative 'schoolies' trip to do missions work in Uganda, Africa. The students will be going with an organisation called Schoolies Revolution who partner with Hope Builders International to coordinate the trip. As part of this trip, students will get the chance to help out in orphanages, schools and local villages as well as doing building programs, like building houses or installing a kitchen for families in need. They will also do things like visiting and helping out in some slums, doing feeding programs at local schools, visiting prisons and leprosy hospitals and helping out wherever they can. All money raised tomorrow will go towards financially supporting the students as they set off to invest their time and resources in a culture that really needs it.

Fiji Major Fundraiser

This year one of the VCE classes called Vetamorphus are excitingly, taking a trip to Fiji on 2nd June to join with Missionary Ventures, an organisation that works with communities in need, all over the world. During this trip we will be helping many of the Highland Fijian communities whose poverty and remote location causes them to struggle with even the most basic needs, such as having access to clean water. These people are also disadvantaged with respect to important things such as education and healthcare. Throughout this trip we will be teaching in community schools, playing games with the children and running church services.

To be able to participate in this trip each student has been encouraged to raise a minimum of $2200. This is not to just simply cover the cost of the plane tickets, but this will also fund bringing over basic essentials like toothbrushes, personal hygiene products, books and basic stationery items to gift to the members of the Fijian communities that we’re visiting and toward the building of a remote church that burnt down last year and is the church we normally stay in.

To help raise funds, students have organised an Afternoon Tea and Silent Auction on tomorrow afternoon, Friday May 26th from 4pm - 5pm in the BHCS Restaurant. Currently there are $5500 worth of amazing vouchers and gifts up for auction. Some of these items include Personal Training Sessions, Photography Vouchers, Makeover and Photo Shoot Experiences, AFL Tickets and MORE. Attached below is a list of many of the items up for auction as well as a couple of images. People will be able to come between 4pm - 5pm to bid on the auction items, enjoy some afternoon tea and hear about our upcoming trip.

The Vetamorphus class look forward to hosting you on this upcoming afternoon.

Music Soirée

The Musical Soirée will be held in the Hills Restaurant at BHCS on Tuesday, 6th June from 7pm.  This is always a wonderful evening to encourage our developing musicians with a relaxed opportunity to perform for family and friends. We hope you can come and share the joy of music with us, all welcome!

No Students at School

We would like to make all families aware that there will be no Kinder or School on Monday, June 12 due to the Queen's Birthday Public Holiday.

Bush Dance

We warmly invite you to attend the BHCS Family Bush Dance, to be held at the school from 6:30-9:00pm, on Friday, 16th June.

The night is held in order to develop and reaffirm friendships between families as well as others within the school community.  We also anticipate having a lot of fun!  Supper will be provided and there will be some games to get involved in as well as the dancing.  If you wish, please come dressed in ‘Country’ themed attire.  As we will be serving supper only, please have dinner beforehand.

Due to the popularity of past events it is essential to RSVP. This will work as a ‘first in best dressed’ system, and numbers will be capped with a possible waiting list if required.

We look forward to a great time together!
