Reptile Encounter

In the last week of October we were involved in the Reptiles Encounter Incursion for Science. We were exposed to many different animals like the stick insects, green tree frogs, a python, red-tailed black cockatoo, squirrel glider, frilled-neck lizard and a 15 year old saltwater crocodile. It was an amazing experience and we learnt loads about the Linnaean Classification System. With confidence we can now name many animals by their scientifically using their Genus and Species names. We got up close with all the animals and we were able to hold, touch and observe them. Some of the animals were so big like the python and the crocodile that we needed more than one person to hold them. This incursion has enabled us to complete our research investigation on classification systems.
