Frontliners

Hi everyone,

I’m Ari Black, a former Gold Street student and now a student from Coburg High School. I wanted to tell you about an important social enterprise I’ve found called Frontliners. Due to the Coronavirus we’ve seen everybody go into isolation to stop the spread and stay safe. But there are people who have to risk their lives everyday to help others, these are our frontliners. Although it would be easy to type an email we would greatly appreciate a handwritten letter, maybe with a picture showing our gratitude. These will be given out to essential service workers along with the care packages provided by 'Frontliners'.

In life I’ve been to hospitals many times for my family, and I’ve seen how they do everything they can to make them feel better. From emergency surgeries to comforting my family members in times of fear. These times have made me reflect on everything that the frontliners are sacrificing for the safety of the wider community. While we sit here at home in isolation, our biggest  worry is our boredom, while our essential service workers do the exact opposite. They can’t social distance because they are on the frontline fighting the pandemic.

So while we sit at home, why not press pause on your netflix series and write a letter to show our support and gratitude. Let's write open letters to the frontliners with encouraging and appreciative messages inside to help keep them motivated and know that we all care. Let’s all write a letter from the whole family, everyone write their own letter, or get the kids to draw a nice picture accompanied by your letter expressing heartfelt gratitude.

Thanks,

Ari

Dear Frontliners,

Message of gratitude/encouragement. Keep it broad so it could apply to anyone
Why are you thankful? Eg: …Because you’re curing people, Because you’re curing the virus…
What are you doing to help? Eg: Staying home, Washing hands…
One last thanks, keep it simple eg: Thanks so much!, You're the best!
