Program Update
Welcome back everyone!
First off, we want to welcome back everyone to a brand new school year! Also a big warm welcome to
all new families joining us at Rangeview! We hope that everyone had a wonderful break over the
Christmas holidays and are feeling refreshed and ready to learn!
During the holidays, Rangeview OSHClub were very busy bee’s! Despite the weather being hot, we
found a way to keep the children cool and entertained for the three weeks of vacation care with icy
poles and a plan put in motion with the help of the school to relocate our large group into cooler areas.
Some of the wonderfully fun and exciting things the children got up to in OSH were excursions to
Bounce, the Zoo and Task Works where they got to jump around trampolines at Bounce, view their
favourite animals and explore what the Zoo had to offer and put their brains and bodies to work in
puzzles at Task Works.
We also had some pretty cool incursions where we has endangered Australian animals visit the
program, tried our hand at coding, tie dye pillow cases, build a bear and crazy contractions with special
lego (they moved and everything!). All I can say, we had a fun holidays here at OSH!
Week 1 back at school.
Last week seem to be a whirlwind! Being a shorter week, but oh boy did so much happen!
We welcomed so many new prep’s who have transitioned into OSHclub with so much ease! It has been
such a delight to watch them come in with excitement and our older children have been so
wonderful in helping us teach our “little buddies” the ropes and the rules of the program. Being such a
large program this has been extremely helpful towards the Educators as with new preps come new
parents, and with new parents come so many questions! This has helped Michelle and Cory have more
time to focus on helping parents who have been coming in first thing in the afternoon and to helps us
support the new changes and routines for our families which puts any nervousness at ease.
We would also kindly like to ask our parents if they can look at their enrolments and change year level
tags. Michelle has set up all new preps with theirs (to make sure they come up on our prep lists for pick
up/drop offs) and started working on removing the new grade 1’s old prep tags. Now seeing as we have
hundreds of enrolments, this is a long process, so if parents could help us out that would be amazing!
Important Information:
Michelle is working on a new medical system to make managing and maintaining medical information. If you have been contacted in regards to any medical concerns, please get back to Michelle ASAP! Unlike Epipen’s, we don’t pickup Asthma puffers from the school daily and must have them onsite at all times. This is extremely important, as we don’t want to turn children away if its on the enrolment but they don’t have one.
We love taking the children outside to get some vitamin D but this does mean we have arrived at the
“No Hat, No Play” time of year. Just like during school hours, children need to have a hat to play
outside to protect them from sun damage. The last thing we want to do is say no to outdoor play, but
safety is our main concern and sunscreen can only do so much.
Any OSHClub questions you have, feel free to give us a call or pop by the program and a staff member
will help you to the best of their ability, have a great week everyone!
