The Instructional Model
Do your children ever use the Baimbridge instructional model terms when talking about their lessons at home?
Terms like Do Now, Learning Intention and Success Criteria are part of the everyday language in all of our lessons and units. These terms are on display in each classroom for every subject.
Another class another possibility of a life preserved. Students enrolled in the Year 9/10 First Aid class in semester 1 have just completed their Level 1 CPR accreditation via the auspice of Mr Kevin Manson and taught by Mr Hill.
Students are also visiting the local ambulance and hospital in coming weeks to ensure they get the big picture of the full Health and Life Saving supports available in our town. We are lucky at Baimbridge to have two defibrillators and students completing this work.
The Year 9/10 Outdoor Ed class had their excursion to Cape Bridgewater on 30/4-1/5. They explored the beach and surf whilst hiking along the GSWW and surfing at Bridgewater Bay.
This term in sport, students are working through a SEPEP (Sport Education Physical Education Program) where the students are split into teams. In these teams they each have a role that they play- coach, captain, publicity officers, statisticians, umpires and team managers. Students are required to manage the lesson including warm ups, game play and game reports. Round one has started with a hit and it is great to see everyone getting involved.
