Around and Beyond  the school

Mr Hill, Mr MacDonald and students at the Hamilton ANZAC Service

Staff First Aid

Some Staff have also been updating their qualification for First Aid. This has been supported by Alison Shawyer. Staff worked for a whole Saturday. The dolls used were the latest style and had full light displays showing correct rates and depths of compressions.

Well done to the 14 who did this Level 2 qualification or update.

ANZAC Day

Students from Baimbridge and some of their families represented us proudly at many of our local services in surrounding districts on ANZAC day. In total we had over 45 students participating in some form in an official capacity, either marching, wreath laying, speaking, playing the band. This along with over 50 selling badges is a tremendous effort from our students. Well done!

HDSC Special Breakfast

A special breakfast was catered for by the HDSC Cert 2 Hospitality second years, with students from Baimbridge, Balmoral, Casterton and some independent school students. Egg & bacon rolls, cappucinos and hot chocolates were provided. This was fully sponsored by Ultrabuild, and as always was greatly supported by the staff and students. Well done Mrs Guegan- Brown, and thank you Ultrabuild.

Year 8 Camp- Bogong

Last week, 43 Year 8 students travelled to Bogong Camp where they enjoyed many activities including abseiling, rock climbing, orienteering, rogaining, canoeing, white water rafting, creek walking, high ropes course, bike riding, pioneering, initiative activities, environmental studies & an overnight bushwalk. A full report will be featured in the next edition of the Globe.

Attitude to School Survey

WE WANT OUR STUDENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

We value student voice as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing, and quality instruction, and are conducting a survey to find out what your child thinks of our school. The Attitudes to School Survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education and Training to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience.

Students from all years at our school will participate in the survey. Your child will complete the survey online during school hours using a purpose built secure online survey tool.  It is important to note that we are not in any way “testing” your child. Your child has the right to refuse or withdraw from the survey at any point before, during, or after completion of the survey.

Your child will be provided with a unique login to complete the survey. The student login is an assigned identifier that may be used to link data for statistical and research purposes only. All responses to the survey are kept anonymous in the response file. Personal identification data will not be recorded in the survey response file. This ensures that the confidentiality of your child’s responses is protected at all times.

This year the Attitudes to School survey will be conducted at our school over the period Tuesday 28th May to Friday 31st May.  The survey only takes up to 20 minutes to complete and occurs during your child's class time.

The survey results will be reported back to the school before the end of term 2. All survey data that is made available in reports are for groups of students only so that no individual student can be identified. Data suppression rules are used for schools with low student numbers per year level.

Last year we used the survey results to assist in the formation of the Annual Implementation Plan as well as using it as a reference point when planning school events and classroom practise.

Can you please help??

Our canteen is in desperate need of volunteers.  With limited names on the roster in 2019 (thank you  thank you thank you for your contribution to our school to those who have volunteered) we are calling for volunteers.

We do not care how long you can give.  One hour will be better than nothing.

Our canteen has already lost one trading day and the students miss that dearly.  Without volunteers we could lose another.

If you are able to assist please complete the form below and return it to school.  We appreciate anything we receive from our volunteers.
