Deputy Principal's Report

Welcome Back!  Although it has only been a couple of days, it has been so refreshing to welcome the girls back to PCW for the 2020 school year.  The positive, connected and strong community bond is apparent, even amongst the smaller cohort, and it certainly bodes well for the year ahead.

We have an exciting few weeks ahead with several events taking place, namely Music Festival (Friday, 14 February), Swimming Carnival (Friday, 21 February) and Athletics Carnival (Friday, 6 March). The Year 12 girls also have their Formal on the evening of Friday, 28 February.  All events are part of our ongoing tradition and are compulsory for all students (except for the Formal), and students are encouraged to participate in order to make these events part of the celebration of 2020.

Changes to Procedures for Absences, Lateness and Signing Out

We recently sent out an Activities and Procedures notice via CareMonkey.  In it, we outlined several procedures including those for lateness, absences and signing out (in the case of early departure).

Please note that parents/carers must either call the school directly or, alternatively, let us know in writing any reasons for absence or lateness.  Written indication can be an email (absences@pcw.vic.edu.au) or a note.  Each written confirmation should also inform the Homeroom teacher; it can be shown if it is a letter, and a cc if an email is sent.

In the case of a signing out, this will only be permitted if it is confirmed by a parent/carer in writing.  This is to authenticate that permission has been granted.  Students should not be making contact with parents via their phones during the day in order to be signed out; it would be greatly appreciated if this could be organised from your end well in advance.
