Hooptime

Victorian Hooptime Champions
On the 26th of November, our ‘Junior All Star’ girls took the court at Dandenong Basketball Stadium. It was a great journey leading up to this event which started with the team by being given wildcard entry into Regional Hoop time. The team then progressed through Regionals undefeated. The effort the girls displayed through Regionals allowed entry into the State Finals. We started the day in a very strong fashion going through the pool stages and only giving away 10 points. The girls then proudly waved our school banner in front of the forty other schools, spectators and parents. Once the finals started, we were very confident after having a long break. During the finals, we were matched against tough opposition, which we were able to push hard to beat, on our road to glory in the grand final. As over 500 teams competed in the Hoop time competition, becoming state champions is a huge achievement by our girls. The girls’ ability to listen and their dedication to basketball was the key for their success. I hope these girls will remember this moment for the rest of their lives and be proud knowing they are state champions. This was the first time that Mount View Primary School participated in Junior Hoop time and also our first ever State Basketball title. A massive thank-you to all parents associated with assisting the girls throughout their Hoop time journey. From everyone in the Mount View community, we congratulate you girls and are very proud of you. Great work by all.
