Corona Virus (COVID-19)

There has been discussion about the possibility of state-wide school closures due to the Corona Virus (COVID-19). We strongly encourage parents and guardians to test their access to Compass as it will be used to communicate such events.

Mobile Phones

Just a kind reminder about Beaufort Secondary College’s mobile phone policy. If students choose to bring their phone to school our expectation is that they will leave it at the Office in the morning and pick it up after school.

Mobiles phones are not permitted to be used during class time or at recess or lunch.  Should you need to get an urgent message to your child, parents are invited to call the General Office and the message will be delivered to your child immediately.

We thank our families and students for supporting our mobile phone policy so that our students can make the most of their learning at Beaufort Secondary College.

Child Safe Schools

Beaufort Secondary College is a Child Safe School and is committed to child safety (Ministerial Order No. 870). We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the safety of our students is paramount.

GOOGLE APPs & OFFICE 365

The Department of Education has developed a system where students can use Google and Office 365 online services to support teaching and learning at school. As a part of the agreement there is an information pack for parents on our website. If you have any concerns about the new system you can contact Adrian Page at the school (03)5349 2305. There is also an opt-out form as a part of this pack if you do not wish for your child to have access to cloud services.

Office 365 has always been free to all students and should not be purchased when purchasing a new computer. Again contact Adrian for more information about this.

DOCTORS IN SCHOOLS

Our school wants to encourage students to utilise this service, so that they are not having to miss time from their studies leaving school to visit a doctor.

The Doctor is available at the College in our Doctor's Room every fourth Thursday from 10:30am - 3pm and the Nurse is in attendance every second Thursday.

Students can arrange an appointment through Jackie Kerr (Wellbeing), or they can drop into the Doctor's Room during Recess and Lunch. Appointments are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.

This is a great service for our students and we hope they take full advantage. If you are unwell, haven't been to the Doctor for some time, require a referral/medication or just needing to chat about something the Medical Staff are available to help.
