Homework

The purpose of the Torrens Homework grid is to provide students with an opportunity to develop organisational skills, to manage time effectively and continue to develop the essential skills of reading and mathematics. The Homework grid is in no way intended to be another layer of formalities, but rather a routine of establishing a school-life balance and developing your child's identity and well-being.

Grids contain four components - Reading, Jobs/Home Responsibilities, Physical Activity and Numerical Acumen / Number facts.

Each fortnight, students are expected to record evidence of their Homework. Evidence can be provided through tables, photos, videos, reflections and reviews. This can be done in a book, saved in their Homework Folder on Google Drive or on their iPortfolio Homework page.

Our first grid will begin in Week 4. It will be published digitally on the Torrens 2020 Google Classroom so that students can access regularly while routines are being established. Students are able to print a paper copy at school if needed.
