UNSW Co-op Program Scholarship

UNSW Co-op Program Scholarship: Congratulations to Kelly Nguyen from our graduation class of 2022 who was offered the $78,400 UNSW Co-op scholarship. The balance supports the career development of scholars through industry experience, leadership, PD, networking, mentoring and financial support. Kelly was successful in her application which also involved an interview with the sponsors. There were 800 candidates and only a few spots available, so this is a great achievement.

Record of School Achievement (RoSA)

At the end of this year,  Year 10 students will have met the requirements for the Record of School Achievement (RoSA) awarded by the NSW Education Standards Authority .  This document is a credential provided by the NSW Government and replaces the School Certificate.  The RoSA records completed Stage 5 and Preliminary Stage 6 courses and grades, and participation in any uncompleted Preliminary Stage 6 courses.  It is of specific use to students leaving school prior to the HSC.  More information is available from the NESA website,  http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/rosa/.

To satisfactorily meet the requirements to receive the RoSA, students must meet specific criteria, particularly regarding the completion of assessment tasks.  These responsibilities have been discussed with Year 10 students and are set out in the Stage 5 Assessment Policy Handbook.  Each student has received a copy of the handbook.

Year 6 into Year 7 2024 Transition

The transition process will begin next week with our wonderful Year Advisers, Lidia Sentic and Nathan Lee, visiting the local primary schools. The team will be going to Cecil Hills Public School, Bonnyrigg Heights Public School and Kemps Creek Public School. They will introduce themselves and speak to the students about high school and things to look forward to.

School Activities

Trade Maths  We have two classes this year and students are loving the application of math to different trades. This week, students were applying Algebra to electrical work. It was great to see how engaged the boys were as they learnt new skills.
