Meet our staff

Our School Captains, Mavis and Jai, have been busy interviewing our staff.  Check in here each fortnight to read more about the staff at Mullum Primary School.

Sam Martin

Mavis: What is your name?

Mr Martin: Mr Martin (Sam)

Jai: Where were you born?

Mr Martin: Dubba, central New South Wales

Mavis: Where did you go to school?

Mr Martin: Finely Public School (primary) and Moama Grammar School (high school)

Jai: What did you do before becoming a teacher?

Mr Martin: I worked as a student support staff member at a school, I also worked at Subway  and Chemist Warehouse.

Mavis: Why did you want to become a teacher?

Mr Martin: I had a great teacher when I was I Grade 5. When I worked at my high school as a physical education helper and seeing a student not be able to do something then achieving their goal inspired me to be a teacher.

Jai: What do you like about Mullum so far?

Mr Martin: I love the community, the literacy program and the support for new teachers.

Mavis: What are your favourite hobbies?

Mr Martin: I enjoy soccer, fishing and drinking coffee.

Jai: What is your favourite food?

Mr Martin: I love sushi

Mavis: What is your favourite soccer or football team?

Mr Martin: Manchester United
