Swimming Carnival

Swimming Carnival 2023

Our 2023 ‘CHS Swimming Carnival’ was a huge success, the event took place at the Coburg Olympic swimming pool which housed our biggest carnival yet with over 1000 students in attendance.

Our day involved novelty events with students participating in the great ball scramble, noodle race, basketball shootout, bomb competition and the inflatable race to gain as many house points as possible.

Students participated in 50m events to battle it out for the CHS swim team, and others competed in 25m events to collect more house points. There were a few school records beaten in different events and age groups, a huge congratulations to the students below.

Jake K - (U20) 50m Backstroke 35.22s

Lucy C - (U20) 50m Freestyle 37.38s

Anneka C - (U15) 50m Freestyle 32.22s

Anneka C - (U15) 50m Backstroke 41.00s

We had Lake house rising from the bottom to finish third place, leaving Bell house to take their place in fourth. Merri and Pentridge came in close for first and second but it was the reigning premiers, Pentridge, who claimed first place for the day with a total of 681 points.

A huge thank you to all staff who stepped up and took on a role to help the day run smoothly, a shout out to the HPE team for organising and setting up the event as well as EJ and her team for hosting the BBQ and face painting. The biggest thanks goes to all of the students for dressing up, getting involved and making our 2023 carnival a success!
