Year 9 STEM have been building kites and experimenting with different designs to fly in a class competition. The winner will be decided by the class, based on design and execution.

Food Tech

Our Foods classes have been whipping up delights day after day here in the CHS kitchen. The Year 12s amazed us with their recent Okonomyaki (as seen on our insta page coburg_high_official) and as promised, here is the recipe for the pasta salad that the Year 10s amazed us with:

Ingredients

  • 150g fusilli pasta spirals – or you can use farfalle (butterflies) or penne (quill tubes)
  • 100g baby spinach (chopped)
  • 100 g cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • 50 g black olives
  • 60g feta cheese
  • 1 ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sundried tomato pesto
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

Method

  1. Tip the pasta into a large pan of boiling salted water and boil for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain into a colander or sieve and leave to drip-dry.
  3. Tip the tomatoes, spinach, olives, pesto into a bowl, grind lots of black pepper over and then drizzle with the olive oil.
  4. Toss in the drained pasta and sprinkle the feta over the top.
