School Captains

Introducing our School Captains for 2023 (pictured above in our banner):

Tabby

Hi Everyone, I’m Tabby one of the school captains. I have been involved in Student leadership throughout my time in high school as well as choir and other performing arts stuff. As a music student it’s really important to me that we can play everyone suggestions for the bell music so please continue to use the form to send through any ideas :)

Josh

Hey, I’m Josh and I’ve had the pleasure of being appointed as a school captain for this year along side Tabby, Ezzat, and Monique. I’ve been pushing to get a pedestrian crossing at the Urquhart street entrance to the school, I have been to the Merribek council to propose the upgrade, and hopefully the development will be implemented in the near future. I’m really looking forward having a positive impact on the school and helping the school change for the better for the rest of my captaincy this year. I would also love to hear any suggestions for improvements from students, so please feel free to let any of us know out in the yard or contact us via email. Cheers!

Ezzat

Hi, Ya’ll, my name is Ezzat and I am part of the School captain team for 2022. During my time here at Coburg High School I have seen both the great things the school has to offer and the areas we can improve to make the future year levels of Coburg High School cherish their time here. A main election policy that I was elected to was to spearhead the inclusion of easily accessible recycling bins out in the yard, as Coburg High School thrives itself as being an green clean school. We have already made progress so far and already have prototypes of new recycling bins, so be sure to look out for them and use them correctly, that's all from me today. As always feel free to come up to me during recess and lunch to share suggestions, questions or feedback. Thank you.

Monique

Hi all,

My name is Monique and I have been elected as one of the four school captains this year at Coburg High School. I am beyond excited to volunteer and take on any leadership opportunities that I can as I am very passionate about making the school environment and community a place that is inclusive, safe and a thriving learning environment for everyone. My personal interests include; reading, writing, philosophizing, fitness, playing soccer, and singing. I believe it is very important to nourish the body and brain/mind! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or want to chat as I am very approachable! (Especially if it’s about soccer!)

Thank you,

Monique

Sport Technician

We would like to welcome Mia Haas to the Health, Outdoor Ed, and PE team as the Sport Technician for 2023. Mia is not a new face here at CHS as she was a student here for 6 years! Mia graduated from CHS in 2022 as one of our school captains.

While undertaking an AFL SportsReady Traineeship this year, Mia will complete studies towards a Certificate III in Sport & Recreation as well as being employed at CHS to work with staff to help with administration like booking buses, communication with students, teaching/coaching staff for interschool sport, assisting in coaching our our interschool sport teams, attending Outdoor Education camps and excursions.

Mia is using this year to gain valuable experience towards hopefully joining the Police force in the not too distant future as well as aiming to play in the AFLW. She is currently playing AFL for the Northern Knights & Carlton in the VFL.
