Traffic and Parking

Car Parking

Our community is made up of over 1000 families and staff which sometimes makes parking a challenge.  We ask our community to always observe road safety laws and avoid double parking or blocking in other vehicles.

Knox Council have supplied us with a bird’s eye view of the parking options around the school.

Please note that the BLUE areas are for parking and the GREEN area is the 2 Min Drop Off Zone. It is illegal to stop or park in areas marked Red & Yellow and you risk receiving a fine.  Knox Council vehicles armed with cameras are surveilling the area during drop off and pick up times every day. Please save this attachment for easy reference:

Please note that parking is not permitted within 10m of an intersection, across driveways and footpath ramps, or on nature strips.

2 Minute Drop Off Zone

Motorists are asked to be courteous and drive forward to the front-most Drop Off spot, whenever possible, and to not linger for longer than 2 minutes.  This will ensure a smooth and safe traffic flow that does not obstruct the roundabout.

Roundabout

It is an offence to cause an obstruction to roundabout traffic.  Therefore,  if there are no available parking spaces at the Drop Off Zone, motorists are required to drive on and find parking elsewhere.

The other matter raised by motorists around Wantirna College is queuing through the roundabout at Templeton Road to gain access to the 2 minute drop off zone.

Georgian Gardens

Knox Council have installed parking signs to show where parking is and is not permitted in Georgian Gardens.

Parking is permitted parallel to the road where there is a 3m clearance for other traffic to pass. As such, the narrow one way road around the island in Georgian Gardens is not suitable for parking.

Georgian Gardens does have some concrete blocks in parts of the nature strip to allow parking however other areas are unsuitable and may damage underground services and nearby trees. Parking should only occur on nature strip areas where parking signs permit parking.

Council have informed residents about parking on the island of Georgian Gardens.
