Harmony Day

2023

Dear Parent(s),

Australia celebrates Harmony Week every year and at BPS we are celebrating Harmony Day Tuesday, March 21st.

Harmony Day is a day to celebrate multiculturalism, based on the successful integration of migrants into our community. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background. At BPS we are united by the BPS value of Celebrating Diversity in all its forms, for all humans of diverse background and identity. The Day also coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The continuing message of Harmony Day is 'Everybody Belongs'.

BPS is encouraging our students this year to wear any bright and happy colours or come dressed in their traditional dress (this is not a special sports uniform). It would be great to see lots of different bright colours dotted throughout the school on Tuesday 21st March.

Kind regards,

Fiona Arthur (Wellbeing Co-ordinator)
