Our Graduating Senior Students, 2021

2021 has certainly been another year that many of us would like to forget. It will be remembered by all in many forms as it has affected each of us in many various and different ways.

We have 12 students graduating Yarrabah this year and it certainly hasn’t been played out in a way that each of these students, their families, and school staff expected. Disruptions have occurred to many milestones from the last school camp, interschool sports, their senior formal, special 18th birthday celebrations with their peers, and everything in between.

Over the next few months, we would like to acknowledge, share and celebrate our graduates, some of whom started their Yarrabah journey 15 years ago in EEP, and others who joined along the way. Every graduate student holds a special place in our Yarrabah heart.

This week, two graduates that we celebrate are Paige Farrow and Josh Winrow.

Paige Farrow

Introducing Paige, our 2021 school co-captain. Paige joined the Yarrabah school community 15 years ago in the EEP program in 2006.

Being the naturally positive and adventurous spirit that she is, Paige has taken to every opportunity that has come her way throughout her education. Paige absolutely loves school, making her an ideal role model for our younger students to be inspired to have that same passion for learning.

Paige has an innate talent for making people feel happy. Whether it’s a new student, staff, or visitor, Paige especially supports people of our school community to feel welcome.

Over the past 3 years, Paige has been an instrumental member of our canteen catering team. Also well-known for her love of team sport, Paige has represented Yarrabah at the interschool sport level throughout her secondary years, always displaying tremendous sportsmanship and encouragement to others.

Following Yarrabah, Paige has some very exciting pathway plans. Paige plans to continue developing her work skills in two industries of her passion; hospitality and working with animals. Paige also plans to re-connect with her friends, accessing Bayley House and programs there such as sport and recreation, life skills, and further work-based opportunities.

 Congratulations Paige!

Josh Winrow

Josh has been a student at Yarrabah for most of his life and has grown and developed into a mature young adult. Josh is always willing to give things a go and thoroughly enjoys being part of every program at school. In his graduating year, Josh was appointed Performing Arts leader for his love of the arts and music.

Josh is popular with his peers, particularly with his friend Liam and he has a great relationship with all the staff and students. Josh has an infectious smile that makes everyone’s day better and makes him a very special part of our section. He has so much to give to others and has tremendous empathy for those around him.

Following his graduation, Josh is planning on participating in a community program that will give him the chance to meet new people and share his exceptional and positive attitude with everyone he will meet.

Congratulations Josh !
