A Message from the Principal

Music, singing, dancing and laughter are filling the corridors at St John's once again. Not only is it wonderful to have everyone back at school together again but the excitement of the production is energising and reinvigorating the whole school. I am enjoying watching the students rehearse as they prepare for the main performance on Friday. Be sure to buy your copy of the movie, with details for sales included on the Production page.

We are continuing to monitor the wellbeing of all of our students with social emotional learning an integral part of each day. Please let me know if you or your child are experiencing any ongoing concerns or anxiety, so that we can continue to support you with the return to school life.

Please ensure that students are arriving from 8.30am onwards. If they need to arrive earlier, students should be booked into Camp Australia (Before School Care). Teachers have meetings before 8.30am and in light of COVID, we are trying to avoid congestion in the foyer prior to 8.30am. All students need to be at school no later than 8.45am everyday, ready to start their classes on time, ensuring they have a good start to the day.

We have just upgraded our shade sails in the passive play area and adventure playground which has rejuvinated both these areas. We have also installed a new drinking fountain and water bottle refill station in the passive play area.

School Fees for 2022 have been set. Please refer to the community news page of the newsletter for more details.

School Banking will no longer be offered at schools. A detailed explanation is available on the community news page.

Thank-you for your understanding and patience during the ongoing works for the Hall refurbishment. We hope that the temporary fencing will be removed in 2 - 3 weeks.

2022 Staffing

Next year Mrs Kellie Cumming will be leaving St John's and taking on the role of full time Maths Leader at St Martins. This is a great opportunity for Kellie and we wish her all the best but she will be greatly missed. Mr Thomas Jackson will be taking 12 months to be at home with his young family. We wish him all the best for the new year and look forward to welcoming him back in 2023.

I have employed 3 new class teachers for 2022 at St John's, due to our increasing enrolments. The new teachers are Ms Clorinda Maio, Ms Jessica Miller and Mr Rhett Masters. We look forward to welcoming them to our school community in 2023.

Masks

All students are encouraged to wear masks at school, which is manadated in Years 3 - 6. Please ensure that your child has their mask with them each day.

Dental Van Visit

Unfortunately we have had to postpone our Dental Van visit for Year P - 2. It will now be offered during Term 1 in 2022. Sorry for any inconvenience. We will file the returned forms for next year.

Joke of the Week

"A mum texts, "Hi! Son, what does IDK, LY, & TTYL mean?"
He texts back, "I Don't Know, Love You, & Talk To You Later."
The mum texts him, "It's ok, don't worry about it. I'll ask your sister, love you too."

Have a fabulous week!
