Step Into Prep 2021

Welcome to our Prep 2022 Families

The purpose of the Step into Prep section of the newsletter is to welcome you to the Springs Family and to keep you updated on everything Prep-related for 2022. We understand that you will have many questions about our school, our Prep program and many other little bits and pieces.  Please do not hesitate to reach out at any time and ask! Book your Early Years Evaluation (EYE). 

How to book an assessment: 

Step 1 – Go to the website: https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/

Step 2 – Click on the ‘make a booking’ icon.

Step 3 – Enter the following event code. Event code: px64v

Step 4 – Select an available assessment time.

 

Tune into Story Time with Miss Bakker as she reads ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. 

You might like to have some fruit to eat while listening to the story.

Hot Tips:

Please remember that all children come to school with different levels of knowledge, readiness and confidence - this is normal!

  1. Encourage your child to practise recognising their name. 
    A fun way to do this is to write your child’s name on sticky notes and stick these in different rooms in your house.  When students come to school they will have lots of name tags to label their belongings/place, being able to recognise their name will support them in finding things easily. 
     
  2. Start to think about Uniforms for next year. 
    The Pakenham Springs school uniform can be purchased from Beleza Pakenham whenever you’re ready!  Look out for their sales and remember that your child may grow in these next few months!  Booklists/Fees will be distributed by the school later this year.
  • Buying a hat, and having your child practise wearing this is a good idea.
  • Art smock (generous size) for the beginning of school.
  • Take-Home Reader bag (can be purchased from Beleza).
  • We recommend students have the PSPS school bag (from Beleza), as this fits everything students need each day.
