Uniform - Reset, Revive and (if required) renew

We were delighted to have students back on site in Term 4, and our priority has been to focus on re-establishing relationships and supporting students to re-engage with school, peers and staff. However, we have noticed that many of our students have grown over the last 6 months and as a result their uniform is not always the correct fit. Given it was the end of the school year, we understood that families were reluctant to purchase replacement items at this time, and this has been compounded by difficulties caused by frequent lockdowns. However, we ask that prior to the commencement of the 2022 school year that the following take place:

Reset: Please re-read our uniform policy and ensure that students have the correct items and know what to wear and when. For example, there is a trend towards black leather runners; these are not compliant with our uniform policy which states: Black lace-up leather, flat business shoes (Oxford style) ONLY. Summer uniform requires white socks, blazers are required with the academic uniform when the temperature is forecast to be below 25oC, hair colour and style is to be “unremarkable”. A copy of the uniform policy is attached for your reference.

Revive: Many students have grown, please check hem lengths and adjust if needed. Shoes should be polished and the blazer may need to be dry cleaned before the start of next year. If items no longer fit, please think about selling them through the second-hand uniform shop or donate them to the school. There are many families who experience difficulty purchasing uniform items and we endeavour to support all families to ensure that their children have access to the necessary items.

Renew: If school shoes are too tight or items are too small please ensure that replacement items are sourced prior to the commencement of the 2022 academic year. School uniform can be purchased from the second-hand uniform shop located at Koonung Secondary College on Fridays from 1:15 - 3:30 pm during school terms, or from our Uniform supplier Dobsons: 274 Doncaster Road, North Balwyn: (03) 9816 3366 Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 5:30pm

Saturdays: 8:30am – 2:30pm

We appreciate your support to ensure that the Koonung Secondary College uniform is worn appropriately.
