This program is a great experience for anyone considering joining the senior inter-school competition in year 9!
If you sign-up you are committing to attend all sessions. They run in the evening after school on the following dates:

If you sign up you must keep yourself free for these dates. Please speak to your parents and make sure you are allowed to attend.

Registration is now open for the Monash Asian Studies Debating Competition! (Registration closes this THURSDAY!)
This is a debating competition open to students from Years 10-12, run by the DAV in conjunction with the School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics at Monash University.
The topics will focus on contemporary issues relevant to Asia. The competition will consist of three preliminary rounds and a final. The preliminary rounds of the competition will run on Sunday 19th May at the Monash Clayton campus, with a final to be held separately.

Year 11 student John Nguyen competed against students from across the state in the Senior Public Speaking Competition at St Kevin’s College on the 28th of April. John presented one prepared speech on the topic of government access to encrypted messages, and two impromptu speeches. We congratulate John on his strong performance at this highly competitive event!
We have a large contingent of Year 7 and 8 students representing Brighton at the upcoming state Junior Public Speaking Competition across May and June. We wish these students luck with their upcoming competition!
The Brighton Secondary College Debating team participated in their first round of state debating competition on Wednesday the 8th of May. Four teams of students from 9 to 12 competed across three divisions.
