Junior Sport

It is hard to believe that in a few short weeks we will have arrived at the end of another Term and with it, the end of the first semester. Time certainly flies when you are having fun!

This weekend, Junior School boys will compete in Round 7 of the IPSHA winter season. This will be the last round of winter sport for the Term. Boys will recommence the final three rounds after the holiday break, with Saturday 17 July the first weekend of games for Term 3. Due to the long weekend and Term break, there are a few implications for training sessions for the Junior School. Please note the following:

  • Training continues as usual for the remainder of Week 7.

  • In Week 8, from 7-11 June, training will proceed as normal with the exception being Founder’s Day on Friday 11 June. There will be no training on Friday 11 June.

  • In Week 9, there will be no training for all winter sports in the Junior School.

Thursday 17 June (second last day of Term) will see all boys in the Junior School competing in the annual House Athletics Carnival. The carnival will be held on Breen Oval and parents/ carers are most welcome to come and spectate. Please be aware that all parents/carers are to only sit on the seats along Fraser Street, with students not permitted to go over and visit. All parent/carer spectators are asked to check in with the QR codes provided upon entry and to distance themselves appropriately when seated. I look forward to seeing you there.

Recently, we had several students involved in trials for the NSWCIS Rugby Union and Rugby League sides. Congratulations to Zac Bechara on his selection in both these teams. We wish him all the best at the carnivals to be held later in the year.

Good luck to all teams playing this weekend. I hope you all finish the term with strong performances; win, lose or draw.
