Engineers Solve Problems

Last Thursday a number of Year 10 and 11 students were given the opportunity to attend ‘Engineers Solve Problems’ which was an event organised by the CCLLEN.

Students were given the opportunity to visit and learn about some of the local engineering businesses in Echuca/Moama such as FoodMach, Byfords, and Riverport Engineering + Hydraulics and also visit the Echuca Moama Bridge site.

It was absolutely amazing to see just how much our local community has to offer in the engineering field and just how broad the term engineering really is. We were very fortunate to visit the bridge project and they informed on just how much planning and future-proofing goes into large projects such as the bridge.

‘Engineers Solve Problems’ also educated students on the many different pathways to obtain a career in engineering from apprenticeships to a university degree. Overall a very interesting and enthralling experience.

I would like to say thank you to the CCLLEN who organised the lunch and transport, Mr Robinson and Mrs Crossman who supported the event, and the many engineers who spoke to us and showed us what each of their companies do.

Thank you all so much for the fun and informative experience that was “Engineers Solve Problems”.
