Literacy News
In Foundation and the Junior School, we use the Fountas and Pinnell Literacy Continuum to plan activities for the LIteracy block.
One of the activities that the students participate in is - Writing.
Students have daily opportunities to write. Students sometimes choose what they would like to write about and at other times, the writing is teacher directed.
Writing time can also be used for writing about reading, with a focus on comprehension strategies or inquiry based. Students also have opportunities to practise the Victorian Modern Cursive Script.
We were very busy last Friday at Lunchtime Garden Club.
Look at the wide variety of seeds we have planted.
I wonder……..
- How many will germinate & sprout green shoots?
- How many are there are altogether?
- How could I work this out?
- Can you work it out a different way?
- How many will not germinate or sprout green leaves?
- How many do you think are flowers and how many are vegetables or herbs?
- What colours will the flowers or vegetables be?
- How long will they take?
- Will they all sprout green shoots at the same time, if not then why?
