Welcome to Week 6!

COVID UPDATE

As you are aware additional COVID safe measures were announced yesterday and were implemented from 6pm across the Greater Melbourne area last tonight. These measures include:

  • Face Masks to be compulsory indoors, however teachers and ES staff in the act of teaching are exempt
  • All visitors to the school must wear a mask while indoors (including signing your child in and out of school)
  • All visitors to the school who stay for longer than 15 minutes must sign in at the office
  • School camps and excursions can continue as long as face mask requirements are followed
  • No more than 30 people at public gatherings

Working Bee planned for Sunday is currently on hold. We are waiting for further updates from DET and to see how the COVID situation develops over the next 48 hours.

Again, a huge thanks to all families for your support during these unprecedented times.

Celebrating Education Week at RMPS

Although we had to cancel our Open Evening and Sausage Sizzle last night, Peter and I joined classes in the afternoon to see fabulous learning and problem solving happening in classrooms.

The Foundation children have been learning about: ‘how do living things thrive and survive? They all made some fabulous habitats, with an array of different creatures and environments. I have shared a video of F2S and their habitats!

Education Committee

Please come along to our friendly Education Committee and have a voice in the development of the Robbie Mac Safe & Happy Book for parents.

Book Fair has been a great success!

Thank you to all families who visited the library during the Book Fair. This is such a beneficial event for students, focusing on books and nurturing a love of reading, and at the same time raising $1671 to spend on new books for the library. A HUGE thank you must go to Lisa and her team of helpers who enabled our Book Fair to run so successfully!

Working Bee

If…. it can go ahead:

Sunday 30th May 9.30-11.30am

All families are invited to attend!

We are hoping for many hands on deck to assist with various jobs around the school. These include:

  • Preparing our old veggie garden for our Eco captains project: removing weeds, digging and raking
  • Raking the sandpit
  • Placing tan bark on playgrounds
  • Sweeping stones off the asphalt
  • Clean up of PFA supplies
  • Picking up rubbish and general sweeping

We will be asking families to bring some equipment from home, such as rakes and wheel burrows to assist with the clean-up!
