VCAL

On Monday 12 August the VCAL class participated in Enrichment Day by going to the Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project (BASP) headquarters to deliver donations from the whole school appeal.

The girls were then fortunate enough to meet some refugees and asylum seekers who had come from varying places around the world including East Timor, Ethiopia and Iran. They shared their stories of what life was like back home and why they had to come to Australia as well as what life was like on Nauru.

The Year 11 students are writing a book that will then be published to raise funds for BASP so they had plenty of questions to ask. A highlight of the day was when a lady's baby daughter fell asleep in Sienna’s arms. Fortunately, Sienna is studying child care at TAFE and knew exactly how to handle this situation!
