PREPARE FOR REMOTE LEARNING

Dear Red Cliffs Secondary College Community,

We are Reddy.  As we transition to remote learning and lock-down we remind ourselves that we are Resilient Compassionate Successful Citizens, and together will get through this. 

Staff have worked incredibly hard today in preparing for remote learning to commence on Monday, 31st May, 2021. Most students will access their program remotely, while some students will be onsite. To access learning on-site you must contact the school prior so we can ensure suitable supervision is available. All students, whether remote or onsite, will be able to access their learning through Compass. To do this, students will need to select on the class/subject. The teacher will have provided a message in the lesson plan section explaining how to access support from the teacher, how to connect to the class meeting/check-in and where to find the work. Most of the work activities will be in the Class News Feed.  

The school hours for remote learning will be 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Staff will use compass and email to respond to students during this time.  Webex Year Level assemblies have been organised, with senior classes (Year 10-12) taking place Monday morning, and junior classes (Year 7-9) Tuesday morning.  Details to access these meetings will be emailed or made available through compass shortly.  

Learning devices will be available from 10 am Monday morning (31st May) until 2 pm. These devices are on loan to students who need them to access learning remotely. The DET provided internet dongles and are also available. To loan a device meet Mr. Manno at the IT office and complete the required form.
