From the 1/2 classrooms

Last week, Grade 1 and 2 students performed their Junior School Concert: ‘Under The Big Top’. Students had been practicing their circus tricks for many weeks leading up to the event and the evening was a great success. 

On the night, students arrived with huge smiles and looked fantastic in their unique costumes. They all wanted to put on a great show for all of their friends and family members among the audience. There were many nerves in every class but when it was time to shine they all worked together to put on a great show! 

Recounts have been our writing focus in Grade 1 and 2, we have been looking at including an introduction using 'who, what, when, where' and the sequence of events including 'first, next, then finally'. Once back in our classrooms students wrote about the events of the evening.  Here are some great examples from some of our students:
