Parents and Friends Update
Stay & Play gathering
From Lucy, P&F committee member
The Parents and Friends (P&F) Committee has been busy developing a plan with many exciting activities and events for the remainder of 2021 and into 2022. Keep an eye out for the date of our Winter Walking Wonderland. Unfortunately, our Japanese Cultural Workshop has been postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions. We have recently welcomed some enthusiastic new members following the P&F Information Session, which was attended by over 30 people.
Our first Parents' Morning Tea saw 14 parents and carers gather at Ample Café for a relaxing cuppa and light morning tea. Without school-age children in tow, the adults really had the opportunity to relax and get to know one another, and Ample Café looked after us beautifully with a delicious assortment of pastries, muffins, and fruit.
The first Stay and Play saw a large group of parents, carers, and children gather at ‘the Triangle Park’. The pikelets, sushi, and lamingtons went down a treat and the kids enjoyed a game of poison ball, some chalk drawing, and whatever other games took their fancy, leaving the parents to chat and connect.
We are a group of parent and community volunteers who organise fundraising and social activities that bring our school community together. Anyone who cares about our school and is willing to help out with, or lead activities and events can join.
What’s the commitment?
Meetings are held at least monthly, but attendance is not compulsory (minutes are emailed). Members can lead activities or provide support and assistance where possible/convenient. New members and ideas are always welcome!
Meetings are held in the meeting room next to the school office.
We are also looking at some morning meetings to better suit our members’ needs.
