Introducing our School Council Members

Melinda, President

My name is Melinda Green and I am the School Council President. I have a daughter at NMPS who is in Year 3.

The school council is responsible for the efficient governance of the school. The objective is always to ensure that its decisions affecting students of the school are a primary consideration, to the best interest of the students and enhance the educational opportunities of students at NMPS.

As the chair of school council meetings, the president ensures relevant matters are discussed openly and that there is full participation of all school councillors at meetings.

I joined the school council to have a greater connection to the school. I value education and believe in the public school system. I enjoy working on the council with like-minded parents and teachers and with the School Principal.

There are a number of exciting projects that we are presently talking about at our council meetings, in particular the second campus for the school.

I am always available to discuss any concerns or just to have a general chat. Please email  me here:  melindaraegreen01@gmail.com

Megan, Vice President

I am Megan Cusack, and I have had the privilege of being involved in NMPS for nearly eight years, with my three boys, Cooper (12), Archer (10) and Ryder (10) each attending the school.  My favourite thing about NMPS is the people and the way that we come together to celebrate major milestones at the school. Standout events are Blokes Breakfast, bi-annual fete, performances at the art show and the Year 6 dances – these dances bring a tear to my eye every year, despite the fact, my boys have only participated in one so far.

I realise the COVID lockdown has been hard on us all, and we haven’t been able to come together as a community as we have in the past.  I am looking forward to some of these events starting again and being able to meet new families and make new friends.

If you ever want a chat or a pat of our new family member Charlie the Cavoodle, feel free to call by the Murphy Street side of the school on Friday mornings and afternoons.

I am usually there and always up for a chat on all things, including some of my favourite topics - family and friends, renovation (I dream of being on The Block TV show), everything North Melbourne, kids sports, work-life balance issues, puppies and holidays in the sun. I hope to chat with you soon.
