From the Libary

From Alice, Librarian

Last week was National Simultaneous Storytime where children across Australia read a story together. Nearly 2 million people took part this year, smashing the expectation of one million attendees. This year the book was Give me some space by Philip Bunting. A copy of the book was blasted up to the International Space Station and was read by a real astronaut in space, making this extra special year

In the library, we made a galaxy wall and turned ourselves into astronauts, If you'd like to give it a try yourself the app is called NASA Selfies and it's a lot of fun. Another great space app is Space Spot, which tells you when and where the International Space Station will be flying over Melbourne. You might like to go out and wave hello to Dr. Shannon Walker, who read the book from the ISS.

Happy Reading!
