Where every child is known, challenged and supported to be lifelong learners.

Dear Parents and Friends,

Well, I can finally say this is my last newsletter I am writing on sick leave. My shoulder is recovering well and now the rehab begins! I am so excited to be back at work next Tuesday.  I have certainly missed seeing and chatting to everyone.

Once again we have started the term with a bang with lots of activities happening and more to come throughout the term

YEAR 4 LITSTEM AT KILBREDA

Yesterday our Year 4 students took the train to Kilbreda to participate in a LitStem program with Year 9 students from Kilbreda.

Ethan  & Daphne 3/4K

Yesterday we went to Kilbreda College by train. When we got there we went to the science rooms and met two of the science teacher Mrs Tanner and Ms Brooks.  We did an experiment and made elephant toothpaste.  It looked like fluffy foam.  We got to choose our own colours to dye the foam.  We did this all by ourselves. We used hyrodgen peroxide.  We really enjoyed it.  We weren't allowed to touch the foam and we had to wear glasses to protect our eyes and lab coats to protect our clothes.  Sadly we didn't get to see an elephant and we learnt that the toothpaste wasn't actually for an elephant - it was just the name of the experiment.  We can't wait to go back again.

FOUNDATION 100 DAYS & CAMPING EXPERIENCE

Today is the day we celebrate our 100 days of school for our Foundation students. I am sure there will be some tired “old” people when they are picked up!

Provided below is information about opportunities for people to tell us about what would help make Kingston more accessible and inclusive. We’ be very appreciative if you were able to include this information in your school newsletters or bulletins for local families.  We are also keen to hear from the school itself – either through completing a survey: CLICK HERE or via individual or group discussions. Please get in touch if you would like to contribute.

Help Shape Kingston’s All Abilities Action Plan

City of Kingston is developing a new four-year All Abilities Action Plan.  We want to hear from people with a disability and their carers, family members and friends.  We’re focusing on making it easier for everyone to get around Kingston and access places like libraries, parks and shops. We want to make social activities, sports clubs and job opportunities more welcoming and inclusive for people with a disability. To find out more and to have your say, please click here.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and see you next week.

Take care.
