Principal's Report
Hello BRPS Community,
What amazing weather we have enjoyed for most of this week. The Black Rock community has been making the most of it with many activities happening across the school.
Friendship Day
Friendship Day is a wonderful thing to celebrate on any day and strong friendships are a special aspect of being a part of a school community. Thank you to our Student Wellbeing team and Wellbeing Leader Davina Dibbs for organising Friendship Day activities. It has been wonderful to see students putting their friendship skills into practice every day.
100 Days of School
Congratulations to our Foundation students who have now attended over 100 days of school. Foundation students bring so much joy and energy into the school and after counting down daily, the Foundation students, teachers and buddies had a wonderful day of celebrating.
We can't wait to see the contributions this group of students make to their own learning and our school community over the next six years.
Parent Opinion Survey
WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
All families will be invited to participate in the survey.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period
Goldstein Youth Forum
Last Friday 28th July, Year 6 students Ella and Seb represented Black Rock PS at the Goldstein Youth Forum with other student leaders, held at Beaumaris Secondary College and hosted by our federal MP for Goldstein - Zoe Daniel. Seb Ella and Seb attended with Mr Littlehales and, along with student leader representatives from other local schools debated a range of issues. Thank you for being wonderful ambassadors for our school and contributing to your local community.
Aerobics Competition
Aerobics Champions!!!
Congratulations to Black Rock Primary’s first ever aerobics teams, who competed at the AeroSchools Victorian Championships on Thursday 27th July.
Our Division A Team and Trio won their Divisions and qualified for Nationals. Our Division C also made the finals.
All three teams did Black Rock Primary extremely proud, delivering their best ever performances. All of their hard work and countless hours of practising paid off and they certainly left everything on that competition floor! Their team spirit was incredible too, cheering each other on and having so much fun together.
A massive thank you to Tanya who put in so much hard work and training with our girls through many lunchtimes and additional sessions. We really appreciate it!!
