Speech Competition
On Wednesday evening, 2nd August, the Rotary Club of Templestowe held the primary school speech contest hosted by St Gregory the Great Primary School. Our two Year 6 representatives Atrina M and Jude D represented our school. We are very proud of our two year 6 students who reached the final round. We congratulate them on presenting their speeches with confidence, clarity and eloquence. Well done!
Here is what Atrina and Jude had to say about the evening:
Atrina: My experience at the speech competition was very inspirational. There were a lot of kids who had really cool and interesting speeches. There were twelve kids in total. There was also many judges who had many different opinions. The stage was huge and even the Mayor was there. I was very shocked to see the amazing roles all the judges had, one of them was 'toast manager'.
The speech competition was an amazing experience but I was very nervous but someone told me 'if you're nervous about something, it means you care about it'. I am glad I did this!
Jude: Last Wednesday 2nd August, I presented my speech to the Rotary Club. My topic was 'My biggest suprise ever'. I spoke for three minutes and I've never been so nervous in my life. They attached this little mic to my collar. Everyone's speech was so good and we all won $50 each!
We look forward to hearing Jude and Atrina's speeches at assembly on Monday!
